There are many unmissable events in and around Certaldo offering you a chance to experience a taste of real Tuscany in a unique and timeless place !

Mercantia -  a theatre and music festival that takes place every year in the summer months. During Mercantia there is the highest concentration of theatre performances per square meter in the town than anywhere else in the world. It is an exciting whirl of sounds, noises, colours, flavours, people to share the fun with along the streets of the town, actors, performers on stilts, parading brass bands, and a total involvement of the public!

The Giovanni Boccaccio literary prize - named after the poet born in Certaldo, it is an important event that takes place in mid September and which in the past has been awarded to major Italian literary figures such as Alberto Bevilacqua, Enzo Biagi, Indro Montanelli.

“La Boccaccesca” -  a food fair of traditional hand-made Tuscan gastronomic products which takes place during 2 weekends in October – an unmissable event for food lovers and gourmets, the fair also features shows, historical re-evocations and medieval theme dinners.
