Date: Every year, in early September

An important literary award honoring the most distinguished citizen of Certaldo, presented annually to an Italian writer, whether a fiction author or essayist. Established in 1982, over the years, the award has expanded to include a category for foreign authors as well as a lifetime achievement in journalism, elevating its cultural significance. The jury is composed of literary critics and journalists and is chaired by Senator Sergio Zavoli. Hotel Certaldo is just a few minutes’ walk from the event.
