Date: every year on Easter Sunday Event dating back about 400 years.
An elaborate and ornate tower-shaped wagon is pulled through the streets of Florence by two white oxen to Florence’s cathedral square. The chariot, stocked with fireworks, waits for a rocket in the shape of a dove to depart from the cathedral and arrive to hit it, kicking off the fireworks display upon impact. According to tradition, fireworks going off all at once is a good sign for the future. Don’t miss this event during your Easter stay at Hotel Certaldo.
