La Luminara

After the sun goes down, Pisa is literally lit with thousands of candles, about 70,000, which follow the contours of palaces, churches, towers and bridges creating a magnificent effect; as many floating candles are entrusted to the Arno River for a magical play of light and reflections. Piazza dei Miracoli with the Cathedral, Baptistery and the ever-present Leaning Tower of Pisa is also involved. Various stands of local handicrafts, accessories, sweets and games run throughout the streets of downtown Pisa. Pisa is also conveniently accessible from Hotel Certaldo by train.
